I did multiple IVF cycles at SGF and CCRM (and IUIs at a fertility clinic in another city before moving here). Each of those clinics felt like factories in similar ways, though the CCRM office is the smallest (by number of doctors). I don’t think IUIs are a waste of time, but I do think (assuming cost isn’t a factor) it’s not worth doing more than 1 IUI. I started fertility treatments at 35 with “unexplained infertility,” did 3 IUIs, switched to IVF and then didn’t get pregnant (via IVF) until 37. Some people have success with IUIs, some have quicker luck with IVF but my point is that time flies by after 35! (Especially if you want to have multiple kids.)
At any of these clinics, you need to advocate for yourself. I will say that CCRM got the quickest results for me, and seemed to be the most competent/willing to think outside the box, but everyone has different experiences. Good luck! |
