A good burger?

Five Guys burgers are too big as well. I'd be fine if they reduced the size instead of raising the price.

Brasserie Liberte in Georgetown has amazing burgers. Burger + fries is about $16 for a fine dining experience

But it comes with fries... whereas the FG's one does not... so in the end, they are equivalently priced.

And way better fries

I don't think OP will like the $24 price tag.

Shake Shack is a truly fantastic burger at a reasonable price. But ask for the sauce on the side, as they tend to put too much on in my experience.

I've had some good restaurant burgers and all the highly ranked hipster ones, but sorry, a burger is not worth $18-20. Even if it's good, it's not twice as good as a Shake Shack double.

I heard this weekend that the burger at The Fainting Goat is terrific. It's next on my list.

Chef Geoff's has a consistently good burger. Shake Shack is my favorite fast food burger. I do miss Fuddruckers. . .
