Safari in Tanzania Australia - kangaroos, koala, duck billed platypus etc Yellowstone Teddy Roosevelt national park Whale watching off either US coast |
| Go see the Komodo dragons. |
+2 for Custer. Custer is pretty fantastic for seeing wildlife. Black Hills and Badlands are close by too and have lots of wildlife and none of the crazy traffic you get at some other parks. |
| Grand Teton/Jackson |
| Yellowstone, Costa Rica |

Another vote for Yellowstone/Grand Teton. We've seen bison, elk, antelopes, mountain goats (on the side of a cliff!), big-horn sheep, bears, moose, marmots, beavers, and many more.
That, plus they have hundreds of geysers, which most kids will find just as cool as the wildlife. |
| It was just a day trip but we had a fascinating time viewing wildlife at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge when we were in the area. |
And wolves and coyotes. |

This is an animal park so not quite the same as seeing them in the wild, but these wolf cabins look amazing. They’re in Parc Omega in Canada.

Australia. Wildlife preserve, Tidbinbilla is a great one, SO many kangaroos.
Costa Rica |
| Amazon cruise |
| Jasper/Banff region. Costa Rica. Depends on animals you want to see. There's animal sanctuaries around the country you can combine with doing other stuff. Around San Diego is good for that. NM and CO too. Jackson Hole is good. |
Yup - Yellowstone is the US version of a safari. Really incredible place. |
| Crystal River Florida to see manatees |
