Most reliable EV/ hybrid - not cost conscious but looking for a workhorse. RAV4? Volvo V60 Recharge?

Is there anyone out there who can help me justify the Volvo for these needs? I really like it aesthetically…

Thanks very much for the feedback! Feels like maybe the obvious option of the RAV4 is also a clear winner as non-car people. The Volvo looks so nice though and we keep thinking we're missing something in terms of other less obvious choices...

Prioritize reliability? Prime

Prioritize aesthetics? Volvo

They are great. Electric motor makes it fun - for now. Long term we are worried about reliability, but it’s our second car so not super worried.

Thanks. This forum is helping me be realistic. RAV4 or Lexus version of it it will be.

NP here with similar specs. We have a 2011 CRV and I have always driven a Honda so the CRV hybrid was high on my list (mainly because I’m comfortable with where the gadgets and buttons are located). We drive about 10-15k/year but most of that is road trips to Ohio. Should I scrap the CRV hybrid idea for the Rav 4 prime? We don’t have a garage so I won’t be able to charge at home.

OP here my BIL loves their CRV but another thread here on DCUM was rather down on their interiors, and we like the PHEV aspect of the prime that seems to be better. This is totally secondhand opinion. The CRV seems great any time I ride in it with family! Theirs is like 2019 though and not hybrid.

Ask does the R4P qualify for the the IRA $7500 tax credit? Otherwise it’s nearly $10,000 more than the CRV hybrid touring…

. NM the IRS hasn’t updated their guidance yet so we won’t know.

Tesla had almost the most recalls any car company in 2022. A lot more than even GM.

Really nice ride. And it was just redesigned this year, looks really sharp. Lexus is a work horse that will last 10-15 years.

NP.. I test drove the nx, and I hated the windows. So tiny. I felt boxed in and claustrophobic. But it seems like a lot of new cars have this styling.

Not OP.. you know, I'm probably older than most here, and I recall when Hyundai first came out, and what a crappy car it was back then. My BIL had one because that was all he could afford. Then my dad got the "luxury" one, and it broke down looong before my Acura.

I can't believe I'm saying this now, but I'm actually considering a Hyundai hybrid. They've come really far.

NP here looking to move to EV/hybrid.

So a 2008 Prius is on its last legs? How long are these expected to last? When I replace I want it for a v. long time. I drive a 2008 now.

Couple thoughts as we are also in the market for an EV...
- the Ioniq5 seems great but it's impossible to get unless something significant has changed in the past couple months
- Have you looked at the Bolt EUV? I think it's bigger and nicer than the Bolts of the past. This is what we are strongly considering.

My 2004 Prius may or may not be on its last legs. I've been threatening to buy a new car for about 5 years now.

I think the Bolt EUV is actually still quite small! We’re also looking for a car with a slightly nicer ride / features, but that’s secondary to the fact that even the EUV has little storage. I did see a review that the backseat leg space wasn’t bad. The backseat cushions seems really short.
