Family organization and logistics - help me out

We do a shared Google calendar but also a weekly dry erase calendar in the kitchen, which I update every Sunday evening. It's helpful for everyone to see the week laid out to stay on track.

Shared calendar is key.

We split appointments and spheres of responsibility -- I do doctor, spouse does dentist. I do school stuff, he does extracurricular stuff. I do groceries, he does laundry.

We have a shared google calendar where everything goes, including work things that we cannot miss…

Why use a random app versus Apple or Google calendar?

We have stuff that each parent is in charge of and keeps track of. One parent usually does all sports stuff or is the primary for that stuff. Another does dentist and doctors, stuff like that. I just use my iPhone calendar.

We do a paper calendar that’s shared, a Google calendar that’s shared, and a daily whiteboard. I have ADHD, so I need the paper option.

I have also assigned full categories to.my husband and it's a game changer. He does all things pet-related-- vet, food, litter, tick prevention. He also does everything related to DC2's sport, and handles all utilities and all technology (cell phone plans, streaming subscriptions, internet). I do more still, but not having to even think about any of "his" things makes a very big difference.

Alexa Show + Google calendar. It is on the wall in the kitchen and it displays everything going on, right in DH's face.

Shared Google calendar is our go to. In addition, we will share a Google "task" list of things to do or shopping lists and then we both see when it gets checked off our list

Look up Fair Play book/cards.

NP. My family of myself, my co parent, and my mom are all on our Cozi calendar. It's easy for us, with our differing devices, to use. It's as good an option as the other calendars.

Google calendar is a popular option! For those who work outside the home, are you maintaining two calendars? All my work stuff is on Outlook and right now I just add family stuff there too and send calendar invites to DH. But intrigued so many people said Google. Does it somehow sync with Outlook so I can see family stuff as well as my own work stuff?

We do a meeting every Sunday night about the week to come.

We divide up kids' activities so one of us in charge of big mental load for that activity

Same with household chores - DH does garbage - i never ask him about it - it's not on my list unless he's out of town, just as an example

We have a family text chain for last minute changes
