I believe that welfare and abortion contribute to fatherlessness.

I believe you are trolling.

I’m not. I think abortion is a cop out for fathers to not have to take care of their kid. They pressure women to get abortions. As for welfare, it should not be a better option than being a married couple.

Do not go through a pregnancy in a state that outlaws abortions and do not have your daughters, friends or any other woman do so either. Giving birth is not a walk in the park and is dangerous. get care in a state that cn provide the most modern and high quality maternal health care.

Do you understand that these draconian, old fashioned, abortion laws are gong to degrade the quality of maternal health care available and drive down the birth rates in those states?

“Strong captain of the household”, barf!

Thanks for confirming republicans are stupid, I guess?

Why are you on this site, who can relate to a 20 year old college student?

You've voted in two elections and didn't even vote for the Republican presidential candidate and here you are labeling yourself someone who "generally votes straight-ticket Republican."

Maybe I should start defining myself by things I've done once.

NP. Welfare doesn’t exist much anymore (after Gingrich and Clinton overhauled welfare). When I read people’s posts here ranting against welfare, it’s very clear they have never been poor or know any poor people. People rely on old discredited information on welfare. Largely Americans want jobs, not welfare. So I find your explanation above to be wildly out of date and misinformed. And I won’t even get into your wrong assumptions regarding abortion.

"Abortion contributes to fatherlessness" is a direct contradiction.

A lot of couples don't have the financial means to raise a family. Why put that added financial burden on when they aren't ready for it?

How do you feel about the top news-grabbing Republican politicians, like Jim Jordan, who's known for hyperbolic ranting, specious bomb-throwing, blaming and accusations and who has been in office for 8 terms but has never managed to pass a single piece of meaningful legislation to actually fix anything?

How do you feel about the unhinged lunatics in your party, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, and things like her "Jewish Space Lasers"?

How do you feel about the other seditious and treasonous elements in the GOP, like Paul Gosar, who has been tied to the J6 attack on the US Capitol?

Do you still believe the Trumpian narrative about "stolen election" and the repeatedly-disproven claims of massive widespread election fraud?

How do you feel about the GOP's continued ties to far right wing extremists like Proud Boys and Oathkeepers?

How do you feel about the GOP not disavowing any of these people?

BS. A hundred years ago people had MORE kids, lived in smaller houses and actually lived within their means. When you get pregnant that means time to grow up. No more Saturday morning mimosas. The poorest individuals have the most kids so your statement is bunk. Don’t have sex if you’re not ready to give birth.

Lots of infertile couples are begging to adopt and the birthrate is catastrophically low in this country. We have a massive labor shortage. Grow up.

A hundred years ago, life was far less complex, so you could get by with a lot less. A hundred years ago, America was a lot more agrarian and it was a lot easier to be self-sufficient - now much of that farmland has been bought up by corporations. 100 years ago, many of their kids didn't make it to adulthood. Pointing to 100 years ago is naive and ignorant of everything that has changed since then.

Prove it.

I am adopted. Nothing would have made my birth father stay. He simply took off and would have nothing to do with my mother or me.

Adoption is not great. It's a lifetime of shame, loss and longing.

If you are the former, why?

If the latter, how do you see the party purging this new harmful wing?

I did not vote for Trump in 2020 (first time I was old enough to vote in a presidential election) in either the primary or the general. However, I would say that I lean somewhat more his way than the way of old-school Rs.

There are some specific policies that I think need to be implemented. Regarding college, I think Parent Plus Loans, in particular, need to stop being given out completely, and Graduate Plus Loans need to have hard caps on how much can be given out. I think that for future students, student loan interest rates for federal loans should be increased.

I support American Exceptionalism. I want this country to prioritize increasing the birthrate, and to phase out DACA. Drastically increase marriage rates and decrease fatherlessness, which is the cause of so many of the issues we face today.

Really? This just makes the burden greater as young adults are starting out in the world. Seems like a 1% interest or no interest for solely educational use is the better, ore equitable way to go.

Really? Abortions spares men who don't want to be a father from becoming one.

I am not sure you have really thought through your stances. I mean, abortion is about controlling women's bodies. Think about it a little while, maybe a lightbulb will go on.

I am not the op, but just wanted to note, the abortion laws are already degrading the quality of material health care - this is not a future thing, it is already happening.
