I posted this recipe last year at Christmas time and several posters came back to say how amazing these are. They are the best!! |
| Not exactly cinnamon rolls, but along those lines, my family loves monkey bread. It’s so easy to make, the kids used to do most of it. |

I do these every year but with buttermilk. So yummy. |
Yes!!! I’m the PP who made Sally’s baking addiction recipe but poured the heavy cream over top in place of more butter as most recipes say. THIS was the one I was referencing and even looked for, but couldn’t find. Thank you for coming back. |

Maybe some of the recipes include it, but my trick is after letting them sit in the refrigerator overnight, steam them in the oven before baking. We boil water in a pan and once it’s boiling put in on the lower oven rack and put the rolls on the upper rack. After 30 minutes, remove and cook.
They puff them up extra for fluffy rolls. |
| I’ve tried the heavy cream trick. They are good right out of the oven but kind of damp and nasty after that. |
I make mine weeks in advance and freeze them (unbaked). Thaw on the counter overnight Christmas Eve, then pop in the oven Christmas morning |
| The recipe from BraveTart is great |

I made these this year: https://food.ubc.ca/ubc-cinnamon-bun-recipe/
Absolutely perfect for me — minimally sticky, but very buttery. Depending on what you want or if your cinnamon rolls YMMV. |

If buying cinnamon rolls, where to purchase? |
Perhaps you used too much? I only drizzle it over them. So maybe about 1/4 cup total for a large pan, they are great days later. But really they aren’t around still after a day or two |
I have made the LizzyT recipe above MANY times and never had this problem. Maybe you need to follow a recipe that includes the cream as one of the steps because that dough is designed to absorb the cream? |

I did a lemon pound cake with lemon drizzle. Gluten free. Very good tasting. Must be the sour cream.
Back in the day I used to do cinnamon rolls but my chest would hurt after eating them. I see my husband bought some Grand cinnamon rolls today. I like those. Can't eat them. A bakery near where I live makes the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen. If you want to buy some here's a hint, every casino employs a pastry chef. Go get some there. It's manna rolls. For real. Go two days before the whatever holiday and refrigerate them. Take them out of the refrigerator when you get up in the morning. 15 seconds in the microwave make them taste like fresh baked. Next year chocolate eclairs. HELL YEAH. |
Cinnabons!!! |
| If you buy Cinnabons, buy the mini ones. The full-sizes ones are never cooked through to the middle. |
