How is spin class for maintaining/losing weight?

I think this is totally based on personal preference. I *hate* the motivational talk and love the focus on the work, but I know some people really respond to encouragement. The sound quality thing would make me batty. (I bought a Peloton in part because I found the variation of gym classes frustrating.)

Point is (assuming the instructor is following safety guidelines) a good class is what you enjoy. Try different instructors, class lengths, and class types to find something you like.

i lost a lot more weight doing spin because I wanted to be there so I went more often. Running on a treadmill alone is so dreadfully boring that I always came up with excuses to avoid that part of my workout. I look forward to spin class, mostly because the instructors are great.
