We passed on a seat for first due to this nonsense amongst other things.

Why is DCB the only charter school creating such random guidance?

100% this. People will just extend their trips. This is insanity.

OP here- yeah I have no idea what this will accomplish. School has not been able to articulate why we aren’t just testing and masking that week but having school. It’s discouraging to say the least!

Good for you! Not everyone can afford that.

The grands will love seeing the kids a few more days and we always pick an airline that doesn't have change fees so the $ should be minimal.

WFH for the win and thanks for your well wishes!

We are not putting DCB on our lottery list because this is ridiculous. I’m sure there will be a waitlist still. We won’t be on it.

Seriously, no logic to this at all. No other charter is doing this.

Based on last year, Capital City will wait until the week before school is going to start back and decide to do this.

Because people want a viable shot at DCI

DCB has a terrible habit of canceling school without notice to parents and imposing nonsensical Covid mitigations. Long-time parent here that is so disillusioned with the school leadership.

Wow, you’re lucky your school is looking ahead to 1) what’s coming down the line 2) looking to preserve learning DURING A PANDEMIC 3) looking out for your child/family health!!

I too can see the future and have paid no attention to the data from the last two years!

Which just speaks to how bad DCPS is in most of the city.

Virtual learning is not learning. We know this.
