Is it ok to leash our puppy in the house (instead of a playpen)?

Do you put the dog in the crate or is the door just left open and the dog chooses? What does an average day look like…how times let day for how long/how many hours in a crate?

I just posted about our 6 month old. She’s in the crate from 7:30-7:30 to sleep. She also goes in for 2-3 hrs every afternoon for nap time. She wouldn’t nap much at all until we started putting her in the crate for a nap. She was getting super wound up and nipping us because she was so overtired. It’s so much better now that we all get a break from each other midday.
