Next time go to one of the sites dedicated to things kids like to do. They always have lists of all the rinks (and playgrounds, events, etc)
Where to Go Ice Skating Near DC: Best Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks for Kids and Families https://mommypoppins.com/washington-dc-kids/outdoors/ice-skating-near-dc-outdoor-ice-skating-rinks-near-dc-kids-families Or, really, any site dedicated to places to go in the DC area 14 Places To Ice Skate Around The D.C. Area This Winter https://dcist.com/story/22/11/29/ice-skating-winter-holiday-season-dc-md-va-2022/ |
What blogger? Did you click the link? |
Not PP, but I did. It said Tysons Ice Rink but when you click the website button it goes to a non-working link. |
Right. So if you just google to see if the rink is open, google says it is. There’s no blog being linked. |
The Tyson’s rink was on that newish plaza by shake shack and the Hyatt/earls/etc. im shocked to hear it hasn’t been there since 2018 if that’s accurate. If OP had gone a few times and hadn’t been back since Covid, I don’t blame her for Aasssuming it was still there. |
Thanks, Op. I didn’t know it was closed. Good to know. 👍 |
Nope. If you actually clicked on the Google link, you would have seen Google still thinks the rink is open. Even now the link says the rink opens tomorrow at 3. It’s all right there on the link, no need to click further. Clearly Google needs to update the page for the rink to note it’s permanently closed. |
The first hit in the link is a blog. |
I mean, I would have gone to the Tysons website and did a search for an ice rink, but I'm smarter than you guys, I guess! |
That's too bad. Wonder why it closed. |
If I had to guess, I would guess that it was probably because the rink could barely fit, was crowded and noisy, and the nearby hotel, restaurants, and residences may not have appreciated it. |
No. The first information on that link is the google information on the rink, which still says it’s open. You’re scrolling and then choosing to pick up a blog that would have been linked directly if the blog is what was being discussed. |
