These news articles do not mention any injuries to students or staff. |
Who is trying to silence you? Seriously, we need their names right now. Further, if any of the elected Ds in this city are telling constituents to shut up about violent assaults occurring in our schools, they need to be driven from town. Imagine if you learned after the fact that someone wanted to raise the alarm about the Newtown shooter but was silenced. |
This is so Alexandria and why nothing ever changes. Completely illogical and another way of saying parents have no right to complain. Screen shot the posts and consider sending to Denise Dunbar at the Alexandria Times. Sounds like she's doing actual reporting on this and will protect sources. |
I went to school during the "crack war" 90's and we were all relieved when the "crews" were driven out of the school by police and admin. I can't believe you all gloss over how terrifying and dangerous it is to be around organized crime. Calling them crews instead of gangs like that's some big distinction, crazy. |
Two points: (1) school board members are supposed to be nonpartisan so it is inappropriate for them to follow direction from Democratic Party leadership and (2) so far they seem to be succeeding in keeping the media from reporting fully on whatever really happened based on the reports linked here. |
PTAC leadership, Democratic volunteers are all encouraging people to be silenced and posting that people voicing concerns are "white supremicists" and "racists" as well as anti-immigrant. In the videos my daughter shared with me, the students appeared to be Black American students, not Hispanic or immigrant/refugee populations. These kids are crying out for help and need it before they wind up in the adult criminal justice system or worse, dead. I am so sickened that people view this as partisan. We live in the most progressive, anti-racist town in America. Maybe someone's politics are different from mine, but I don't think asking questions or being a concerned parent of ACPS students at MH warrants being labeled a racist or white supremecist. That is really extreme and one of the reasons I hate Alexandria politics. It is sickening, really inappropriate, and we can do better as adults. |
Silence is violence. screen shot and send to denise dunbar at Alexandria Times. |
Seriously, what is wrong with you that you list the bolded in a grouping with the other matters? |
Because the many who have buried their heads really would need that rejection letter before they acknowledge a problem with ACPS. That is how those people think, and that is why they promote silence. |
Are you coming at this from the position that only parents whose kids would otherwise be going to UVA are the only parents potentially empowered to advocate for changes in the school? If so, why? I would take the position that all parents, including those who didn't attend college, and whose kids don't intend to attend college, have the power to advocate to make the school better. |
No, not at all. It is just those who are trying to silence other parents and support ACPS and City Leadership at all costs who are the ones who may change their ways if their kids get UVA rejections. Everyone else has to fight those deranged sycophants to make change - when they are the evil ones. |
Bullies are ultimately cowards. |
