Taking dinner to a recovering friend - meal ideas?

I'm leaning towards comfort food since I'm not sure how they will be feeling. It's in a few days so I have time to grocery shop and cook, I'm just having trouble figuring out my plan.

Is there any restrictions on what they can eat?

Just found it at Harris teeter. I think they just started carrying the DeCecco brand.

For dessert, ginger-pear crumble helps with post-anesthesia nausea and drug-induced constipation:

This is a very thoughtful idea! Personally I make a lot of meatballs, and they freeze and reheat super well so I tend to take those to people. I make chicken parm meatballs, chicken picatta meatballs, you name it.

I’ve found it at Teeter. Try the Italian store too? I haven’t checked for this but they have a dried pasta section.
