Well, you said your dog needs a comprehensive exam. That's going to include bloodwork, so they may as well do the titers then too.

Look at the humane society and the county. In MC, the humane society does them and the county does the rabies for free.

Packages from Banfield Pet Hospital are good. A friend paid around $500 for every shot, visit, and neutering for the 1st year of her puppy’s life. That’s an awesome deal! I spent much more for the same stuff. She said all of the vets at her location (Bethesda, I think) had 10+ years experience. Buy through Cbewy, Walmart or Costco. Chewy sends me 20% off coupons for their pharmacy.

We take our dog to the vaccine clinics and not to the vet for vaccines. The price difference is shocking.
If you can go to a www.vetco.com or the www.vetsmart.com clinics, it's worth it to put the money towards the vaccines and not an office visit.

Both are great and easy to find a clinic.

to a vet? just because you go to a shot clinic for vaccines doesn't exclude you from getting regular vet care from a vet's office.

I assume that's not the OP. Buying a pet when you're already financially squeezed is foolish.

Be careful about dealing with PetSmart/Banfield. Many expensive, unnecessary recommendations made.

OP: You are fortunate to have a private vet as there is a nationwide shortage.

Please do not cheat your dog out of necessary healthcare. Find other ways to save.
