Next time you get the urge to ask that question, I need to tell you about a little thing called google. You should really check it out.

So, no source. Got it.

What you need to understand is you are not any kind of important person. You are not a judge, teacher, parent, etc, and I have no need to show you anything at all. You're responsible for your own information. If you want to eat bugs, be my quest. I'm not giving you s#i+!!!

All bugs, though? I think eating farm raised crickets is probably different from eating houseflies. (And yeah, I'm silently gagging a little as I type this.)

They all have antinutrients in their crunchy exoskeleton. And the reason bugs are being promoted as "ecofriendly" is BECAUSE they consume excrement and waste products, making them very easy to raise. That's why they have low carbon emissions. So yes- all bugs.

yeah, sure

Not a chance.

Chapulines! I thought no but grew to like them on salads in Mexico.

I'm not looking forward to eating tons of bugs and hope I won't have to, but I'm not super grossed out by it either. I'll fish an ant out of my drink and keep moving. If a burger had an insect component ground in that was pretty imperceptible I'd be ok with it. If René Redzepi served it to me at Noma I'd at least try.

Nope, I'm vegetarian and that extends to the insect world.

np Here is an article saying it isn't more humane to eat bugs because you have to kill a lot more. Enjoy!

I keep seeing articles like this one popping up more and more, and it seems like there’s definitely a concerted effort underway to move the Overton Window in the direction of this.

Yes, other cultures have traditionally eaten insects for millennia, so there’s no need to impress us all with your reminding us the obvious. Likewise for those who would quip that shellfish are already akin to terrestrial invertebrates.

But this version of entomophagy would be different, with insect protein being processed into a presentation more suited to Western conceptions of what “meat” should resemble. So instead of grilled insects, it would be more akin to a soy-burger.

Will you eat insect based “meat’?

Aren't we already accidently eating bugs? I mean I read a few years ago bugs fall into our peanut butter but, they don't scoop them out. I am sure there are other bugs in other products too.

Impossible Burgers are fantastic! And that’s coming from a obligate carnivore!

That’s kinda different than eating a 1/2 pound pressed block of beetle larvae or earthworms disguised as Salisbury steak

I see bugs sold at moms organic market and I steer clear of that section. It grosses me out and I think I’m a pretty adventurous eater.

I have eaten crickets, ants, and caterpillars. I don’t particularly like them. If find the chitin texture off putting. All of those fed off plants through, and they were growing out in the wild.

Here’s some actual research rather than the uninformed statement by the anti-insect poster- https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s42690-019-00021-w

“The findings revealed that all the edible insect species are highly nutritive with non-toxic levels of anti-nutritional properties, and thus can play a major role in food and nutritional security of people.”

I weep for scientific education in this country whenever I see people post random scientific articles to support their argument without even bothering to read or. Beer stand the title (much less the abstract). That article does not say what you think it says.

1. Article has nothing to do with humans or humans eating insects.
2. Article has to do with pest control management for a storage pest that nobody eats.
3. Article has to do with controlling the pest population in order to AVOID pesticides
