Support Group for Expectant Moms?

It's called MAMISTAD-NOVA First-time Pregnant Moms(SAHM&singleMoms too).

The amazing organizer hooks you up with other Mamis who are due around the same time you are. There are tons of events and so many fantastic women.

You can read about it and join it here: http://www.meetup.com/Mamistad/about/

The "amazing organizer" is surely the one who posted this. She is quite the self promoter!!

No, I posted this, and I am not the organizer, just a grateful member. Why would you assume that and take the time to post it?

There are so few organized ways to meet other pregnant women to get support and friendship (in fact I found no other way). Some of us do not have many friends in the area, may struggle with the blues, and feel overwhelmed at times. The organizer was in this position herself 4 years ago when she started the group. She continues the group to help other women- she is not a "self promoter"- what she gets out of the group is helping other women like me. I am so thankful for the group and thought other women on this message board could benefit from it as well.

I wanted to clear that up because it is, in my opinion, an incredible group with an amazing organizer.

I live in the Falls Church area and work in Upper NW DC (near American University). Due in January. Anyone else fit these locations and months?

To the naysayer...
You should be ashamed of yourself.
If this girl helps people, and they want to share it, you think its your job to step in and say you don't believe the praise is genuine? If you actually belonged to the group you'd probably agree that this woman devotes a lot to helping moms. Plenty of them are grateful for her whether you approve or not.
Personally I delivered my 3rd baby last month and have been a member of Mamistad since my first pregnancy. My group was the reason I had moms to hang out with after having moved to DC while 3 months pregnant.
You should be ashamed of yourself. Your comment added no value whatsoever. Please ignore the smallness of it my fellow-readers - this person must be starved to chime in on something...
