Because 200 have looked at the thread and 15 have said yes? |
| 100%. My life revolved around policy debate in high school. |
Huh? |
| I was a nerd in elementary school. In 6th- 10th I was a rebellious stoner, 11th and 12th boring “get good grades” type. All the popular kids got excellent grades and some were people you’d consider downright nerds, even boys who were destined for GA tech (in state school) and had no luck with the ladies. So while I wasn’t popular, being nerdy/intellectual wasn’t a social downside. |

No, but I sure am now.
Esoteric pursuits of Presidential and First Lady biographies, genealogy, local history, ephemera collecting and using found pieces to create art, calligraphy and handwriting analysis. word games, pop culture. |
| I was not officially a "nerd" but I discovered in 10th grade that the kids I sat with, we were all classified as "brains". |

I was a bookish, shy valedictorian, so yes.
But I got a PhD instead of going to law school, like some idiot, so I am not the typical DCUM demographic. I don't even make 6 figures. |
| I was a nerd in HS and didn’t lose my virginity until 24 |
| The geeks shall inherit the earth. The jocks peaked in HS, and like to relive their glory years |
True for most of us who moved to DC, although I actually got nerdier as I got older. |
| Nerd here as well. And married to a nerd. But aren’t most of us in DC nerds? |
This was my cousin's high school goal! Luckily she managed to achieve it. I was kind of a nerd and kind of a weirdo hippie. I thought I was invisible but unfortunately I wasn't. |
| I was a stupid nerd. I loved reading but got bad grades, and had zero interest in partying or drinking. |
| Nope. But, I wasn’t cool either. |
