Dang, spoken like a true white person. When you are starving, it's hard to think about "more meaning to life"... Because you are barely hanging on to it. |
There is a huge difference between those who arrived with parents as children, those who were born here and those who arrived and are stuck in H-1bs, NIVs and/or 20+ year green card waits. If you gain permanent residency and/or citizenship early in your life, you have decades to work, start a business, change jobs, and build wealth. It's a game changer. If you are in a non-immigrant work visa (like H-1b) in your 20s, 30s, +, it is incredibly difficult to build wealth and very likely that you will not because you are completely handcuffed by status and immigrant visa backlogs. OP, if you are in the latter boat, the very first thing that you need to do is gain residency so that you have latitude to build wealth in the matter which is most suitable to you. Without that, you'll go nowhere fast. |
+ 1. To complete your sentence 'spoken like a true white person, who went to a LAC or Ivy (full pay), has a cushy job, LAC/ivy admission lined up for kids, and now preaching "meaning in life" to others'..
