| It’s a blood sugar issue and your body’s (liver) not processing it as well. |
| 46 here, too. I drink very little now, after enjoying plenty of alcohol as a young adult. It’s a combination of not wanting to drink calories as my metabolism slows and the reality that I often feel absolutely awful the next day, even after two drinks. |
| Might be perimenopause. I had some weird symptoms. I developed a specific food intolerance, my body is much less able to process alcohol, I dehydrate more easily (these two likely are related) and I developed a taste for wine over beer. |

Covid?
My best friend was a huge red wine drinker. She had Covid over two years ago, and she hasn’t been able to tolerate the taste or smell since then. She also stopped drinking coffee and eating onions. It’s like dining with a different person. She said she now has the pallet of a 10 year old. |

Hey bestie ❤️ |
This was my theory too when it happened to me in my late 40s/early 50s. I love my red wine but I had to stop drinking it while I was going through menopause because it was giving me headaches and I couldn't sleep, getting night sweats, etc. I thought it was due to hormonal changes. Now that I'm finished with menopause, I can once again enjoy my favorite wines! |
