Seconding this too. You may just want to try out the next size just to rule it out. And in the meantime check in with your ped to rule out an ear infection.

Op here: I took him to the pediatrician today and they ruled out any ear infections or other illness. He’s up to 15 lbs 7 ozs so he’s still gaining fine. The dr said he’s not dehydrated either. He pretty much said to give it another week and if he’s still doing this, to bring him back in for a weight check. He said there is no harm in him eating this much less for the short term but not to let him go less than 18 oz a day as then we risk him getting dehydrated. Today he ended the day before bed at 19oz and still has his 10pm dreamfeed so I feel a bit better with todays eating.

Op I’m the pp here Re: bottle aversion. Please look at some of the resources I shared. The anxiety over ounces feels so so familiar to me and the weight checks are the dr honestly can start to make the pressuring worse because it ups your anxiety. Just at least have in your back pocket in case it gets worse because if it is bottle aversion until you really follow the steps to lower pressure it just keeps escalating. I feel like I sound like a crazy person here but I don’t want you to suffer with this any longer than you have to, if that is what it is.

My baby had bottle aversion at around 2 months. It was due to pressured feeding. We stopped pressuring her to take full feeds. And just gave her what she would drink. If she didn’t want anymore, after 2 tries, we just stopped feeding her and continued with the day until she was hungry again. We waited until she indicated she was hungry before feeding her again. During this time, we were feeding her more often again (7 times a day). And she was also back to waking up at night once between 10-12pm and again between 3-5am to feed. This lasted about 2 weeks. She ate less initially and then slowly started eating more and more. Then she got back on her regular schedule again. 5 feedings and sleeping 11-12 hours. It took about 2 weeks and may have also coincided with a sleep regression. Who knows.

My son did this for 7-10 days and then his teeth came in. Something about the bottle could be irritating the gums.
