how to encourage someone who’s over 70 to exercise

PT. She is probably in pain, just like me.

She’s had a bad knee, and now she’s fallen and limping, and is disinclined to do anything about it. After going through a few exercise phases (walking , going to the gym), she hasn’t been active in years. We are all at a loss about how to help her. TIA!

Sorry. But you can't. Same issue with my MIL.

There are physical therapists who come to the home. Would that help? There are youtube videos of exercises you can do sitting in a chair.

Fo not encourage a dog. Especially for someone who does not or cant exercise. Dog will be neglected.

For any of these issues. I make a gentle effort to know I tried, and then I respect the elders right to make their own decisions no matter how poor. At some point you have to let them live the rest of their life on their terms even if it shortens their life.
