Is the term 'foodie' code for food addict?

No. Affected way to say one likes food.

Uh, no. It’s the opposite.

+1

And I didn’t like the term even then!

+1. When I eat Taco Bell twice in one day I'm being a wino with food, but I'm not being a foodie.

It's blurring. I look at TikTok videos and a lot of "creators" have made their content entirely about what they eat throughout a day. I mean some of it is a specific restaurant or trip review but there's a lot of "here is what I ate at every single meal today" and it's very...alarming. I'm an eater - foodie not so much but I do enjoy my food and I have a few extra pounds because of it. That said, it's kind of sad to see the accounts that I watch get heavier and unhealthier for content. I don't know if they are addicted to food or posting or if it goes hand in hand. Doesn't seem fun anymore.

Those people have social media disorders, may have eating disorders, but are not foodies.

I thought it was someone who considered themselves gourmet eaters with particular tastes.
