wear mask or not in this situation

SIL is a stay at home mom, and they don't go anywhere much, mostly stay at home. The baby probably has not interacted with other kids/babies yet. Does that mean the baby has no or weak immune system?

It means mom is careful and if your kids are sick, stay home and covid test before seeing them. How is that hard to get?

Yuck. Don't expose grandparents to all those daycare germs.

I probably wouldn’t make kids mask unless holding the baby, given that the parents don’t seem to care. I would test before hand, suggest opening windows, and not go if kids have symptoms or a known exposure.

Don’t bother asking here. You’ll get a chorus of ignorant people shrieking OMG COVID IS SOOOOOO OVERRRR WE NEVER MASK.

Ask your actual friends.

Are you eating dinner all together inside? If so, masks will be off.

I mean… my kid has had a permanent cold since school started 1.5 months ago. Like, he keeps contracting new ones before he’s even finished with the last one. He has given all of these to the now 8 month old baby, so she is permanently snotty as well. It isn’t exactly ideal but unless family wants to not ever see us until say next May? They have to accept some level of risk regarding cold germs. Obviously anything more serious we would stay home but otherwise, we inform them of the situation, discuss and then proceed.

Your kid should probably be masking if they are that sick or staying home. That would be pretty bad to give it to another family, but clearly you don't care. Personally I'd rather not see you.
