Safest way to pay bills online?

Just a note that paying by cc can be a pain if the card is stolen. Mine was stolen 4 times in less than a year, 5 times n 18 months. Huge Pain in the butt to deal with each time.

Never had a problem but if we were hacked the hacker would have a big problem getting much money out of our account because there’s not much in it! Maybe just get a checking account just for bills and only transfer enough to cover bills to it.

I think this is quite common. I've never had a problem, so I wonder how risky it actually is. Logging in to my checking account to pay bills online sounds like a bit too much of a pain.

I’ve had several replacement cards and the credit card company automatically switched all of my recurring payments to the new card.

NP. This is great to hear. I've been doing it for my parents and my great-aunt. I tried the CC route but after some problems with CC numbers getting changed and me not remembering all the vendors being paid by that CC number, I moved to the bill pay system with their banks. Right now I have accounts set up on 7 or 8 of the big banks for them and it has been working well; yet, I've always wondered if it was the safest choice. Thanks for the feedback.
