This is my vote.

Subaru Impreza. Small car but feels big inside.

Today a toyota corolla cross caught my eye: https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/corollacrosshybrid/

It was slight smaller than a rav4.

I owned a hyundai and loved it. I like my toyota nowadays.

Hated my VW and Subaru and Chevy

You can't go wrong with the Ford Escape.

Truck? Sure, go with a Ford F150.

But suv/crossover? Absolutely not. Ford Explorer has been in the press for years as they can’t seem to build them properly, and the escapes have a pretty poor reputation for reliability as well (aside from one version of the hybrid that taxi companies used to use)

Op here. DH hasn't bought a car in 15 years, I bought mine 4 years ago and got a steal of a deal that I know I wouldn't get nowadays. I honestly don't know what our budget is, but not extravagant for how often it will get driven and my husband is very frugral. No luxury vehicles for him.

Check out the new Toyota Crown.

Jetta for 15 years is impressive. I’ve had 2 VWs and neither lasted past 100k

Didn't sound like they are an elderly couple so pass on that.

+1

I like driving them but don’t think I will get a third one. Too many repair issues.

I highly recommend the Acura dealership in Gaithersburg. Lots of really good used/certified pre-owned vehicles in stock with good terms. Ask for Greg.

Anonymous wrote:DH has a 15 year old VW Jetta that needs to be replaced. He’s full time WFH so it won’t get a ton of miles. I have an SUV and drive a lot for work, so on the weekends, ideally we’d use his car (but currently I refuse to ride in his tiny car lol). We need something bigger than a Jetta, so Sedan or small SUV. He doesn’t like huge cars and we have a small garage. He has no idea what he wants and I’m not a huge car person either. Must be reliable and comfortable. We only have one kid, 7 year old (she’s just in a booster). He and I are both relatively tall.

I agree.

Nissans have horrible transmission issues and Kia’s are just junk.

They are for people who want to drive a modern looking car on a beer budget.

I am on the fence re: Hyundais.

I have heard the newer ones are much better than the older ones.

You have literally no idea what you’re talking about.
