| Do not knock on my door before it gets dark |
I see what you did there! |
Who is taking small children TorT at 10 pm? TorT is for 12 and under, not for high school students. |
I give out candy on Oct. 31, Halloween 🎃. |
| Trick or treating is still a thing? |
| We usually only go to houses where folks are sitting out on the stoop or porch. |
|
The thing is ever since the country pushed the time change after Halloween, it gets dark much later.
I believe the reason for pushing back the date of the time change was to allow ToT when there was still light. But it does really ruin the vibe and means you have to start later if you want to be in the dark. |
I grew up in the DMV and this is not remotely true. |
| The littlest ones often go out before 6pm. When I had toddlers, we’d just go to like 5-10 houses on our street of people we knew. Then home by 6. |
| No clown trick or treats before 6 |
|
We usually head out around 6 or 6:30. Our door is closed and light is out until about then as well as we try to eat and get ready.
Your 1yr old is adorable but please don’t knock on my closed door at 5pm and expect me to be ready. |
|
Seriously, every year people! Why do you keep asking?
What does your neighborhood do? I am ready at 5:30. But in other neighborhoods at 4:30. |
This. 4 pm or after is fine with us and we're ready for you. |
Glad to know there is an official age cut-off, determined by you. |
|
How are people trick or treating at 4 or 4:30?
Doesn't the typical work day end at 5? Then commute home, dinner, change into costume, etc? I get that a lot of people work from home now, but not everyone does. |
