Why do rich women pay lots of money to deform their faces to look like this?

She’s ALWAYS had a ton of work done. You liked it until you didn’t.

Every niche culture has their affectations. You can just as easily mock people's nails or tattoos or butt implants or perms or multicolored hair, or weird quilted jackets, or the size of bodies, or any of of the other niche cultures norms circulating in modern society.

People are allowed to choose how they look. And they will. Your opinion on their choices doesn't matter.

No one died and made you the arbiter of beauty.

Im pretty sure its severe i security that develops into body dysmorphia and addiction to plastic surgery a d they dont actually realize what they look like. Michael jackson reportedly had 70 operations on his nose. Towards the end they just told him theh did something and put a bandage on it because there was not tissue they could actually touch.

Even walking around my rich Midwest hometown, every other millionaire mom (and grandma) looks like this. I am unsure if they realize how ridiculous they look. What I do know is this weird “look” i.e., everyone knowing you can blow lots of money on surgeries and frequent injections, is a status signal, to them at least.

These celebrities have all the resources in the world, they have access to & knowledge of the BEST, most subtle treatments. What makes them do this instead? I don’t get it either OP.

Probably just recent surgery swelling? Kamala Harris looked super bloated and crazy on MSNBC just before the general in 2020.

The public has always been the arbiter of beauty and people pretty much agree that this looks ridiculous. Obviously these people aren’t listening, but so what?

This. And it is sad because now they look weird and old when they could have just looked old(er) and fine.

My mother periodically does whatever they do that makes them look like lions for awhile.

She lives in an independent living facility and often tells me people think she works there because she "looks too young to live there."

She doesn't. She looks like a lion. An old lion.

OTOH my mother and her friends are all “rich” women and they are aging old school NE Yankee style, grey men’s hair cuts, no makeup, turtlenecks and pearl studs. So its really more of a class than a wealth thing.

Thank God someone is here to defend rich women. The right rich women anyway.

Happy to do it! You can ask me anything about the “right” way to age, my people have very strong opinions.

Please tell me how to age like an NE Yankee, I am curious

It's so crazy, they really are all starting to look the same. Gwen looks almost unrecognizable. At first glance, I thought it was Madonna. Then I looked a little more closely and realized who it was. Yes, that was before I read the caption, LOL!

Alas, this is becoming the new "old" look, with an extra flavor of despair.
