Trying for my first at 35

DCUM has plenty of late 30s moms. So does the rest of the world. On top of that fertility rates vary based on race so ask your doctor.

35 is normal in the DC area. You’ll be in good company here. Under 30 is practically treated like a teen pregnancy.

Had my first at 37 no issues.

Four miscarriages between 34-36, no testing or treatment could get a pregnancy to stick. Early menopause a few years later

It's Debbie Downer again!

Threw out my birth control at age 29 and hoped for the best. *Nothing happened* until I conceived twins at 43 and delivered at 44. I mean, what the h*ll. Twins are now 5 and life is pretty dam good.

Advanced maternal age definitely doesn’t = high risk! It is most likely that everything will be completely fine. Good luck!

Had all three kids when I was 35, 37, and 39. Got pregnant easily each time and no miscarriages in between kids. Kids were all born between 40 and 41 weeks, relatively straightforward vaginal deliveries, easy recoveries for me.

Had my only at 38. No one ever mentioned anything about my age or recommended I have any extra tests. All good.

35 is a very normal age to have their first child among educated women.

Had my twins at 35 (16 yrs ago). Thought I was ancient back then, but now considered younger by DMV standards.
Vaginal delivery, no issues, just has add'l birth defect tests.

births at 35 and 38. No issues, other than gestational diabetes with #2. Never had a miscarriage that I know of. Got pregnant with #1 after 2 months of trying; pregnant with #2 after 4 months of trying.

I will say that I got pregnant with #2 after lowering my stress.

First at 34: baby was pre-term (but healthy!)
Second at 36: baby was full term, also healthy! Had a bogus bleeding scare around 31 weeks that turned out to be a one-off. Had MFM monitoring for the remainder of the pregnancy, but no interventions.

Conceived on my second try at 34 and first try at 36.

As lots of posters have said, 35 is pretty typical in this area. Don't give it another thought and see how it goes for you. Good luck!

I went off birth control for the first time in a long time and got pregnant with surprise twins two weeks later. No fertility treatments of any kind, although we did visit a specialist before I went off birth control. We discussed some options and then they said to try for six months and come back if I wasn't pregnant. We also did the blood tests there to see if my husband or I were carriers for anything.

Went off BCP when I was 35, pregnant a few months later and had a 1st trimester miscarriage. No genetic anomalies found when they tested after my D&C.

Pregnant again at 36 and gave birth to a healthy baby at 37. I had some late-stage pregnancies issues with high BP which were likely genetic and not age-related, since my mom had preeclampsia with me.
