I like Orgain Simple from Costco. Most of the protein powders that I've tried have too much sweetener for my taste, and the Orgain Simple isn't as sweet (it is a little higher in calories, though, because its sweetness comes from coconut sugar, not stevia).
FYI, in case it's the foaminess of whey protein powder that you dislike, try making the smoothie as normal, and then just stirring or gently blending in the protein powder at the end. When I do that, I don't get the foam. |
I’m a strict vegetarian. A few years ago, I was unhappy with my weight and successfully lost about 30 lb (and have so far kept it off for about 3 years) by really upping my protein and fat intake. I eat a lot of nut butter, cheese, yogurt, and milk. I also eat a lot of veggies but try to make sure I have a solid fat/protein at every meal.
Typically, I eat yogurt + oats for breakfast, a salad plus a lot of protein for lunch (avocado, eggs, nuts, cottage cheese, hummus or some other fat/protein on it— not just lettuce and veggies), and a big roasted veggies + rice or pasta meal for dinner. I also absolutely love peanut butter and will put it on anything as a meal. Peanut butter on anything (toast, bananas, apples) is a great easy meal. I firmly believe vegetarianism is a great lifestyle choice, for many reasons. However…it can lead to more of a reliance on carbs, which are not inherently bad, but you can start to rely way too much on them, not getting the fat or protein you need, leading to overeating. I was trapped in that cycle. |
For protein shakes I like premier protein - cafe latte flavor, atkins iced chai and dark chocolate |
I'm on this vegetarian diet https://betterme.world/articles/diets/vegetarian-diet/ right now. I was afraid that it'll be difficult for me not to eat meat. But it turned out that pretty easy as I found a lot of interesting recipes there. I'm thinking of becoming a strict vegetarian. |
What is a strict vegetarian? I think you’re vegetarian or not. If you don’t eat meat 90% of the time, then you’re not a vegetarian. If you never eat meat, you’re a vegetarian not a “strict” one |
A lot of people say they’re vegetarian but they mean they don’t eat red meat. Or they’re actually pescatarian. Or they are “mainly” vegetarian. Or they’re trying to eat plant-based. All are good— reducing your meat (particularly red meat) intake is good. But that’s why specifying “strict” is sometimes useful. |
