You seem to be missing the point. It is a huge issue, unrelated to the employability of Yale grads.

It isn’t a big deal at all. Being a Yale grad is not a protected class. They can choose not to hire Yale grads if they please.

Agree, not sure why people would find this a big deal at all. People consistently state they would never hire people from perceived "conservative" schools. Yale Law grads will get a job.

This organization is entitled to their opinion. Just know where they get a lot of their money.

FIRE has received major funding from groups which primarily support conservative and libertarian causes, including the Bradley Foundation, Sarah Scaife Foundation, and the Charles Koch Institute.[2][11][12][13] FIRE has been described as a competitor of the larger ACLU.[10][1][4] In 2021, FIRE had an annual revenue of $16.1 million.[14]

You’re absolutely right!

The same is true of Ilya Shapiro, recently the cause celebre of conservatives after Georgetown put him on administrative leave after he made racist, sexist comments about a SCOTUS nominee. (The difference is that Georgetown didn’t fire him and make him a martyr like he wanted. So he quit and has been dining out on it ever since.)

The issue here is rank hypocrisy (which no one cares about, of course) and just the general snowflakiness of conservatives.

Except judges are expected to remain impartial and neutral. What if a Yale graduate appears before this judge as an attorney on the case? Their bias against Yale could be the basis for a motion to recuse. This is not normal behavior from a sitting federal judge.

This is just a publicity stunt.

It also makes no sense. If she's truly concerned about the free speech issues caused by these students, then excepting current and past students makes no sense. She's essentially punishing future students for the actions of current and past students and letting the current and past students off.

The rank hypocrisy is on both sides and suggesting conservatives are somehow the only ones guilty of "snowflakeiness" is being amusing. Self-awareness is definitely not in your wheelhouse.

+1

The Federalist Society has become even more cuckoo than it was before. They gather at these events and a few people tell the others what to do, and now we have judges cancelling an entire school because they say individuals cancelled their friends. These judges don’t sound like they are in their right mind.

+1

Hypocritical dickheads.

I give to them also. They are non-partisan and defend both liberal and conservatives, as long as it's about free speech or due process.

Person A: We should all be peaceful.

Person B punches Person A in the face.

Person A punches Person B back.

Person B: I thought you said we should all be peaceful? What a hypocrite!

Talk about cancel culture. This is the definition. The hypocrisy is astounding.

Do what you want. But don't be ignorant of the funding sources when digesting the opinions of that or any organization.

What a load of hooey. This doesn't correlate or make sense.
