+1 same here. My 7yo is so excited about dumdums |
| My house will either be a hit or egged this year because I bought mini cardboard airplanes and mini playdohs when they were on super sale on Amazon and also grabbed some giant boxes of fruit snacks from Costco. Go shopping deals I actually got them all for a lower price point than a fun size candy bar. |

Curmudgeonly opinion here: I only want my kids to come home with like 45 pieces.
So with 3 kids, I should be able to buy on average 150 pieces. Hand out and done. I buy like 400 between Trunk or Treats and my own door hand out. Sometimes more. We did end up with extra last year. Glad I didn’t run out … But, WHY do we need to hand out AND come home with ~200 per kid. It’s insane. |
Then do dum drums, the kids will appreciate the change and the6 are getting plenty of candy. |
My kid would pick the airplane or playdoh over candy. Great idea! |
| Bought a box of Reese's cups and two boxes of kit Kat bars, both full size, from Costco. It was almost $100. ::Shrug:: |

How about you tell your kids to only to 10 houses and not take more than one piece of candy? Why do have to group think on this? |
I just ordered my full size bars from Costco and I usually buy about 300 (we have a very busy ToT neighborhood - I will even likely run out!) and spent about $300. But my Halloween budget is bigger than my Christmas budget so I’m going with it. |
Sounds like a good old traditional Halloween just isn’t for your family. Maybe just keep your kids home. My house and neighborhood are big on Halloween and my kids come home with TONS of candy. We all love it! |
I do not understand why you buy candy to give out based on the number of kids you have. The amount you give out and the amount your kids come home with are completely unrelated. |
Smarties are trash DumDums for the win for cheap candy. |
| Dum drums ar great. My kids also love the cheap non-candy toys - witches fingers, finger puppets, etc that you can order online in bulk. |
Oh man I love smarties! And for whatever reason I must eat them in 3’s. My kids don’t care for them, though. |
Yes. Love the pineapple and watermelon-flavors; root beer, yuck. |
