I love Carys.
Isn’t Emlyn traditionally a boys name in Wales? (I agree it sounds like a girls name, but just flagging.) |
| I hate Carys. It sounds like a lotion. |
| Meredith here. Everyone always spells it wrong. I have no idea why. I don't hate it. It's fine, but I don't understand why people like it. |
|
I studied abroad in Wales. Meredith is a boys name in wales as and pronounced muh - reh - dith by Welsh speakers. The way we say it is Americanized.
I really like the name Anwen (pronounced ann-when). |

Gwendolyn is nice.

Same! |
This is so dumb. You have a name for the entirety of your life, and go to playgrounds for a hot minute of it. Not everyone has a redneck Grandma either. |
|
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bryn yet. Love that name. You could also spell it with two nn as in Brynn.
|
It's a lighthearted way to make the point that a name that looks beautiful on paper may not be practical for real life. |
| P.S. Both of my kids have Welsh names and now that they are adults (and off the playground) they absolutely love having a slightly rare name on their college campuses. |
(I'm the Brynn poster, not the immediate PP) |
| I love Dylan. I know a Dylan and it totally suits her. |
| Bronwen |

Your compromise list is nice. I'll give Rhiannon a vote.
