IOW, you don't have a citation for the statement, "They were banned for encouraging girls to pursue science." Okay. |
| So, this book does not teach coding- it is a babysitters club type book with characters that code. And the books are not really banned. That is what I get from a Google search. |
This school district did ban the books but a big mobilization got the ban lifted and the stupid board member who promoted the ban voted out. Read the article. |
Unless you have an only whom you homeschool, your DS is not the only kid in the library and what he wants should not dictate all the books available for the range of students at the school. |
And I guess everything is all about your son. Small world you live in. You need to get out more. |

‘According to the Central York School District, the series was never banned. Instead, the books were included on a list of resources that was later pulled.’ https://amp.centredaily.com/news/nation-world/national/article266375536.html |
| Why is it okay to ban books in a free country? Do we have precedence of this in our country? Sounds like some backward countries where corrupt politicians issue "Fatwa" on authors who are critical of their religion or G**. Why do republicans support it? |
Yes, when I choose which books to buy for DS to read at our house, it's all about him. I'm not a school librarian. This is a parenting site. And these books sound boring and a bit insulting for their target audience and intended purpose. But if it works, fine. |
Np- this thread is about book banning. |
So… the books were banned. The Republican doublespeak is Orwellian. They were never banned, you see, they were just pulled from the shelves so they were merely unavailable. |
