My post is asking if 99.5 or 100.4 is considered as fever. The pediatrican also tells me that if fever free 24 hours and symptoms are improving, he can go back. He is jumping on sofa watching TV now without any medication.

What is acv?

Acv is apple cider vinegar.

Your daycare will tell you what their threshold is for a fever. I run a daycare and it is 100°. If a doctor’s note clears a child to return to daycare but it does not meet my business’ sick policy then the child cannot return. This rarely happens but when it does I remind the clients of my daycare‘s sick policy.

Keep your sick kid with a fever home. Don’t be the selfish parent whose kids gives every other kid a cold and screws up half a dozen other faMilies lives for the next 2 weeks because you couldn’t be bothered to take another day or two off. Unless you are some kind of crazy doctor or surgeon there’s really no job where you can justify the behavior of sending in an ill child to day care and it’s really terrible, selfish behavior. If there’s a fever, keep your kid home!

And that policy is set by licensing in that state, so it’s not negotiable.

But he has many coughing that happens the worse at nighttime sleep. Is there any medication for coughing? They say he has a bit sore throat because it is a bit red when they check it.

OP just chiming in bc mine has something similar, minus the runny nose. On and off again low fever, sore throat that is red but not strep, coughing fits but only at night. We went to the ped as well.

We have kept him home when he seemed like he'd be too tired to enjoy a day at preschool and he's gone on the other days when he seemed okay. Our cutoff is 100.4 but knowing temps go up throughout the day I wouldn't send with a lower fever in the morning.

Our cutoff is 100.0.

Under 100.4 isn't a fever.
