house color thread - copy the common look or slightly unique?

Given your data, I personally would do a lighter gray with white trim, black or navy shutters, and a bright tangerine/persimmon front door.

Our old house was the tiniest bit pink tan. Ok well, sometimes it definitely looked pink. It was stucco. Burgundy-ish red door. The garage matched the house.
I painted it Greige with a Navy door. Painted garage a bright white (not white, but you know).

Currently we are a tan-yellow or a yellow-tan. We are the only ones in the neighborhood.

I just analyzed all of my data, and if I wanted to completely fit in, the highest #s are tan siding, white or light garage, black door, black shutters.

The more unique touches in the neighborhood:
-Siding with dual tones (side vs. shingle siding in front)
-White with a tinge of light blue - same exact unique layout as ours, and I hate their choice.
-Gray, sometimes looks darker blue
-gray with a tinge of green (ugly original)
-gray
-brown with a tinge of green

Doors
-turquoise
-tan
-light blue
-3 with cream, which I think I love
-bold robins egg
-3 with red

Shutters
-turquoise
-red
-brownish gray or grayish brown
-7 with wood of various shades

What about a sage/dusty green with black door and shutters, white garage? I love dark green for houses, but sounds like that would be out of place in your neighborhood. Our house is beige with very dark green shutters and door (beige garage door) and I love it - luckily, since it's HOA-dictated

I love the idea of sage. One of the best-looking houses on my street is pale sage with black shutters and a dark red (like a brick red) front door.

If you are a boring, classic person, then you should go with boring, classic paint colors. Anything else and you will not be happy with and may be embarrassed. If you love fun, funky colors, then liven it up!

There is a lot to love within boring and classic! I should know! I do have to have HOA approval. Again, there is a lot of leeway. It's not a situation where entire neighborhood colors are established.
I'll come back to post if I decide... so hard!

This image is similar to our home. This is not our home, but has a similar look, currently.

whatever you end up doing, I would paint the garage doors all one color. The bi-color paint job in that photo is distracting and makes it look even more like your house is all garage.

I love charcoal gray with white trim. You can do a white , red, or black door.

Other options clean navy blue, white trim, black door.

Instead of looking at your neighborhood (or in addition since you’ve already done that) look online (Pinterest, Instagram) for houses that match your style of house for ideas. You need to find inspiration/what makes your heart sing, at least for the main color. You can’t be only analytical about it or you won’t love it! Hire a color consultant once you have some ideas pinned. This is not as expensive as a designer

Only because you seem so invested in the outcome, perhaps consider taking this course: https://mariakillam.com/product/exterior-colour-selection-masterclass/. If you think you'd gain enough to be confident to move forward on your own, it would be less expensive than hiring a designer.
