This was us last year for 2s. My DD’s birthday is in February and there was one kid with a June birthday and then the other 6 kids were born between October and December. There were two 2s classes and the other one had more older kids (maybe it was 50/50 split) so I didn’t understand why they didn’t put all older kids in one class and then the younger in another.
Anyway, I too was worried but it ended up being a non-issue. Yes my child was way more advanced than the others since she was 8-9 months older than some, but the teachers did a good job of engaging everyone where they were. |
| You guys know that many kids start kindergarten with no formal preschool right? And they do just fine. Your kid isn’t doomed to community college because they weren’t challenged enough in the 2’s class. |
| How do you know all the other kids birthdays? |
DP. They are usually posted on the wall. |

My daughter was in a daycare at that age with younger kids and it worked out really well. She was the “helper” for a lot of things and she really cared for the younger kids. I feel
Like it taught her to be kind and empathic and look to help out. |
| OP here - thanks all for the replies. I hadn’t thought of it as a potential confidence builder - I’ll try to look at it that way. |
