Amazing that ACPS parents still trust Hutchings and this School Board.
By the time the parents (who like to talk about the segregation/how safe their kids are and what a great education they are getting because they are in honors/AP classes) figure out the impact these proposed grading policies will have on their kids' college prospects...it will be too late. The ostrich should be on Alexandria's city seal. |
Homework isn't equitable. That's been the rule at George Mason ES for years. |
While I understand the equity concerns about homework, I think ACPS should focus on the equity issues with its failure to teach half of its students adequately in math and almost 4 in ten in reading. To me, ACPS’s utter academic failure needs to be the forefront concern.https://alextimes.com/2022/09/alexandria-sol-pass-rates-lag-behind-state-scores/
Instead, all we get from the Board and ACPS is equivocation. |
You are right but Alexandria voters are ok with academic failure. Look at the School Boards they elect and fawn over. |
Well that’s true and it is so frustrating. In my district, Jacinta Greene is the worst one on this and the highest vote getter. It boggles the mind. |
She's awful. Like Alderton she's very loyal to Hutchings. The three of them were out promoting Hutchings book at my church a few months ago. |
Vote them out. I used to like Greene, but she is a problem. I figure she and Alderton have hopes of going into higher level politics. Bailey is awful too. He tried to censor other members. He was terrible on city council. I'm sure he is a nice person, organizing coat drives and hair cuts for kids, but we need better. |
They want to join Hutchings at his consulting firm. |
At least they’re not Ignacio, who threw her weight around TC and ran off multiple talented teachers because they dared not to kiss her ring. She’s literally not fit to bag groceries, let alone be involved in education. |
Actually the kids in AP will go to even better colleges due to inflated grades and coming from a diverse school. All the other kids won't fail out but will have a HS diploma as well as an education that is impossible to define as "poor" due to no metrics or accountability. It's actually a winning platform in Alexandria. |
