Infertility Support and Discussion
What is your research? I'm 39, have long cycles, and produced 8 mature follicles on my first cycle of clomid. RE was shocked. That's NOT a low risk for HOM. Some of those eggs probably were not good, due to my age, but still we could not proceed responsibly with that many. Fortunately it was a monitored cycle. Twin pregnancies are high-risk and not something you should really hope for, especially since you are only 35. If you're mid-40s and have no children and one shot at IVF, then maybe twins would be a good outcome, but in general anything more than a singleton pregnancy is not considered a desireable outcome from a fertility treatment standpoint. REs try to avoid twins if possible. |
| Okay ladies, I appreciate everyone's opinion. I have chosen to take the clomid. I will ask for an ultrasound from my ob/gyn. Sorry if you disagree with my statement that I would be happy with twins at 35. I understand everyone's shocked and chagrined to find that ob/gyn's prescribe clomid. I was more looking either for those who had done it unmonitored or those who had done it both ways. Believe me, there is enough negative info on the topic on the internet to give me 45 panic attacks. So, here is OP signing off of this discussion. Thanks again! |
