I only live .5 from our elementary school, and I will often drive, park a block from school, walk my child in, then walk back to my car and drive to work. At our school the doors open 20 mins before school starts, so I time it to park 25 mins before school starts, and I have never had a problem.

This is probably what we will do, as I can’t spent 30-40 minutes out for a stroll in the morning; drop off is at 840am and I need to get to work.

The 0.5-1m walkers are for elementary kids with SAHM who have no need to rush after the kids are off to school. Buses should be like extended day, and if both parents work it should be something we can opt in for (I would even pay!).

So get on the wait list for extended day and you can pay to make your transportation proven go away

You can walk to extended day

Just drive and park nearby and walk your kid to the front door. You can drop off about 20 min before school starts and be on your way immediately. Or, as others have suggested, do morning extended day and you can drop off (walk or drive) on your own schedule. Pretty easy.
