| Why on earth are you buying $300+ of groceries? |
Because my family eats more than rice and beans, thanks. |
| Yes, 20% |
Are they pigs? That’s crazy! |
| I would tip based on the approximate time they spent on your order (it’s subjective) because any extra time they spent on your order is taking them away from another order and tip. |
They also do your grocery shopping. It’s not magically delivered to their car. |
| No way. I would tip 20.00. |
| They do all the work for you. Shop, bag, all the driving to/from, and carry it to your door. |
| My Giant delivery averages $250/week but regardless of the order amount I tip $20. But they back truck into my driveway drive and it’s not far to my front porch. If they were bringing my order upstairs, in elevator, etc. I’d tip more. |
NP: Have you seen grocery prices? It’s crazy high. I buy for two weeks at a time. |
| No, at Whole Foods you tip just the driver, a separate team shops and packs. |
The shopper is usually a different person and doesn’t get the tip. It’s just the driver who is making multiple stops over an hour maybe. That’s why the default tip is only $10. |
Correct. You are literally giving someone driving $60 in theory for putting bags in the car and dropping them off. You should ask what the pay rate is for these positions (hourly) from your local WF store. |
Those functions are not done by the guy who delivers. The driver, however, gets to keep all the tip |
Stop embarrassing yourself. It’s clear you’ve never set foot in a grocery store recently. |
