We're not in VA but my DD picked up a couple new sports by playing with friends and doing some work by herself that are not competitive and made the JV team for both field hockey and lacrosse. Her travel sport is soccer but our school's team is too competitive for her.

Yorktown has one of the best lacrosse teams in the state. So likely not walk on.
