| You should advise her to apply to both since they are both competitive schools and neither is a sure thing for her. |
| If she hasn't been admitted to both, there's no advice to give. Wait until she both gets into both. |
| Did she just get off the waitlist, or are we talking next year? |

+1. Another engineer here. The title made me laugh. But I suspect OP is trolling us. |
This. Particularly for engineering. |
| Emory does not have an Engineering school. |
I'm thinking the same. Referring to Mich as a safety was a sign but also this idea that this kid is choosing between really tough admits at a time when no one would be admitted yet (unless coming off a waitlist late in the game). |

OP what are you talking about Michigan is not a safety.
Emory not for engineering. You are doing this wrong. College is about getting out. Like a hospital stay. Make sure she looks at all the classes that are required and the career center. What types of jobs do students get? What companies come to the career fairs? I guarantee if your kid can not figure out that Emory is not as good as Michigan for Engineering they are not ready for college. Not bashing Emory great school. Just not great for engineering. |
I am not aware of any engineering program at Emory. Is this something new for this year ? |
Pretty sure this is the Emory booster trolling. |
| Pretty sure its a troll hoping to laugh at posters picking Emory for engineering over a world-renowned engineering school. |
Why doesn’t she just apply to UVA? That way she can entertain both of her concerns; a safety and a lesser known school. |
