The summer was cooler than usual up until the end of June. Then it flipped into one of the most hot, humid, rainy summers I can remember in decades.
If this is what Florida is like every summer, I don't understand why anyone could deal with it. |
Per Capital Weather Gang, this summer has been statistically average by temperature. However, due to climate change, average is now very hot. |
This is correct. This summer has been pretty much dead-on average, but the averages are now calculated from 1991-2020, so it just keeps creeping hotter and hotter. Thankfully we escaped another summer like 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016 which were just awful all around. |
This summer seemed mild to me. Some hot days, but typically we have weeks where even the swimming pools are not comfortable. This summer there was only a handful of days the water was w really warm.
We did have a lot of rain/storms (at least intermittently- so you never felt safe planning something outdoors). |
Yes, the summer of 2018 had record precipitation. Our house was one of the ones that had a tree fall on it because of the combination of saturated soil and some wind (although not horrible wind). |
I feel like we have gotten an insane amount of rain this summer. I hear you OP!
PP's comparison to Florida is apt-- I feel like I now see weeds everywhere. I remember when the area used to be a lot dryer. |
Too much rain wtf , it feels like Vietnam summer |
