| I would want to know if my child was brought home by the police. I would pick them up right away. |
| The cops brought home a group of kids who were…..walking around? Does your area have a teen curfew? What law were they breaking? |
| I think it’s crazy that the police brought them home. I don’t think this is nearly the big deal people are making it out to be, other than going to the park at 10 was a dumb idea. |
| Lol. |
| Almost every house has a camera. All kids should understand they are almost always on camera wherever they go. So don’t do stupid stuff. |
| You let a group of 13 year old boys loose in the neighborhood at 10 pm? You should immediately send a text apologizing to every parent. |
This. Is there anything actually illegal happening here? I'm not going to argue that this was a "nice" or "neighborly" thing to do, but it seems pretty harmless. |
| You need to take every child home immediately, text every parent an apology, and ground your child for a month. |
Agree. Commenters are overreacting. |
They were ringing doorbells and running away. Sounds like the officers didn't say they were breaking any laws but were correct about the dangers they faced from homeowners. |
They weren’t charged with doing anything illegal. |
As a home owner you would've be considered if you saw 6 figures sneaking around your property at 10pm? Imagine your 13- year old was home alone and called you panicking about 6 people running up to the front door in the dark. Even if you wouldn't mind it, Nextdoor app is full of people freaking out about a unknown people walking around the middle of day. |
Emden of its not illegal its stupid. Like the police said people have guns and will use them. Right canderas are everywhere. It's not like the old days where you can set off cherry bombs at the park. |
It’s not stupid. It’s nasty. They’re waking up kids, the elderly, people who are trying to get some decent sleep for an early morning at work. Where is the empathy? |
Master planned community no safer than any other community. |
