Littles makes me irrationally ill, I can't explain it. Also anytime someone refers to their child as "little one" in third person, or god forbid regarding their spouse -- hubby or *shudder* "hubs". |
| YMMV |
i’m fine with the others but i have an irrational loathing for “littles” |

I remember hearing this for the first time shortly after DC was born -- a high school friend told me to enjoy my "little" on Facebook and I was like "huh, never heard that before." My kid was like 2 weeks old at the time so it felt endearing. But now that I have an older child it just sounds impossible twee to me. It also sounds like your are talking about a doll or a pet or something, not a person. So I guess I don't mind it as much in reference to a brand new baby, but calling a child who can walk and talk your "little" feels sort of insulting to them. |
