Walking to lose weight

NP. My neighborhood is super hilly so I hope I’m getting some of the same treadmill incline benefits. I walk 45-60 minutes daily. I do it mainly for the exercise benefits, not because I think it would help me lose weight. To do that I’d have to give up ice cream and I’m just not ready to do that. Sigh.

I agree with this, but it really depends on the person. For me, my Apple Watch keeps me accountable and I enjoy competing for a personal best. If one of my arrows is suddenly pointing downwards I ramp up my workouts.

Actually you're getting even more benefits than someone on a level 10 incline on treadmill.

But how to you keep up daily walking, given our climate??

I love to walk in the spring and fall, but once the humidity starts, I can't bear it.

Get good shoes--don't just walk in regular old sneakers.

NP. The humidity doesn't bother me, as long as I slow my pace, and don't go walking mid-day. Summer evenings, even after dark, are my favorite. I love the sound of nighttime bugs and frogs, etc.

However, once it's below 45 degrees, I cannot bear it. Even with layers on. I do not like the cold.
