EVs and the new climate bill

I don’t see why they should have any limit on income. Isn’t the idea to get more EVs on the roads and in our communities? (where they can then be sold in a few years as second hand vehicles too) They should have no income cap. We need critical mass of EVs to justify building a better network of charging stations. The more the better!

Here's the thread. Who knows if it's true or not. There's a kicker for cars where final assembly takes place in the US by union workers, and the joint income cap is raised to $500k. Here's hoping.

Will demand fall enough that manufacturers are pushed to reduce prices, or is there enough demand even without the credit for high earners? Will be interesting to see. I plan to buy an EV in the fall, but might put it off for a few more months to see what happens to prices.

prices for EVs will increase - Ford announced a $6,000-8,500 increase for its EV F-150 Lightning due to supply chain issues. Tesla increased the prices of its models earlier this year. Have to imagine other manufacturers are not immune from this problem.

I understand that there are other factors going into price. But this particular factor seems like one that will push prices lower relative to where they would be without the change in law. And change the relative price differential between EV and gas from what it is now.
