| Kinky Curly Knot Today has incredible slip. DC and I have long, fine, wavy-curly hair. Just use a smidge after the shower, work throughout and comb. It also helps waves stay together, reduce frizz, and somehow keeps tough tangles from forming or knotting up as much as they do otherwise. |

Get a hair mask for her to use in the shower once a week. It helps my DD with similar hair so much in the summer when she's swimming frequently.
Also, always braid hair for her before bed. |

The issues may not last forever. I asked a similar question a few years ago and basically got nasty responses saying I should just cut her hair all off if neither of us could put up with the tangles.
Now, her super fine hair has thickened enough that I'd say she gets a "normal" amount of tangles rather than tons. Yes, brushing her hair every morning seemed like torture but now she's able to do it herself (but she prefers someone else brush then braid/put it up in a bun/etc.) and even survived a week of sleep away camp without having her hair turn into a giant matted mess. Do whatever you think is right for yourself and your daughter. If it would upset her, then don't. Tell her the consequences of tangles and struggles of brushing it every day patiently, then do it. Maybe one day she'll finally decide cutting her hair would be fine. Maybe her hair will grow out of this stage. A biotin conditioner and making sure she gets good protein (or collagen) probably don't hurt either. At some point, it will be her sole responsibility and you won't be struggling with her hair when she's an adult. |
Yep. Preferably French braid pig tails. They hold best. |

This is what works great for 7yo DD with same hair:
Wet brush Water spray Original Sprout miracle detangler Original Sprout leave in conditioner Orignal Sprout shame & deep conditioner Each morning I spray a little with the water and add detangler while brushing hair out starting at the bottom. Use the shampoo & deep conditioner. In the summer, I add the leave-in conditioner on a daily basis before swimming, right after swimming etc. - just brush it through and leave it in. Her hair has been great with this routine. |
| In all seriousness, when I went out of town for 4 days my husband got so frustrated that he offered her $100 to get it cut. She took the deal. But yes, brushing by me morning and night (even if she tries, she always leaves knots in the back) and always a braid for bed. For us, knots beget knots beget rats nests. |
| Our girls all have short hair for this reason. They can grow it out when they would like to (and can take care of it on their own). |
