There is no reason not to include this activity in Common App activity section. Whether the high school counts the hours for community service is not relevant to college admissions.
Moreover, there are plenty of categories to choose from - it need not be under the category "Community Service (Volunteer)." |

I think everyone has missed the question, lol,
My son is closest with his advisor- he would probably ask him in this situation. It is a small school and my guess is the advisor would be happy to receive the documentation and pass it back to my son. |

My kid uses Lions Heart. You input each date/time individually and add the name of the person who verifies it. I don't know if it triggers anything on the supervisor's end to verify it, but I suppose it might.
I think it's $65/year? Not cheap, but it has been helpful to see it all in one place (my kid is over 300 hours.) Lions Heart also processed their PVSA awards and sent it to them. Didn't have to fill anything out; once they hit the hours required, they did it automatically. |
It all depends on where you are a CIT. At some YMCA summer programs, the entity certainly might be serving an underserved population. The expensive summer camp in the mountains where I was a counselor in college, likely not. |
