ACPS Interim Superintendent

It’s unfortunate that ACPS didn’t try to find someone who will give the students staff and parents the continuity and stability the community deserves.

Many people in this thread seem incapable of reading. Seems like an okay choice for an interim, though I also thought leaving out her admin/teaching experience in the press release was odd.

You’re right of course. She will be the interim for one year. However I am sure they asked if she would be interested in the permanent position and this will be a trial period. They dont want to have to conduct a full search starting in January. If she does okay they’ll offer her the position or she’ll be applying to other Supt jobs at bigger districts with more money and prestige. If she flames out or upsets the board in some way, they will have to start over.

She's Hutchings' pick. Tells me all I need to know about her and the School Board.

If she’s Hutchings pick, maybe keep an eye on her first order of business could be hiring his LLC to implement the equity plan he wrote about in his book. I wouldn5 put it past any of the board members to set him up with a nice start up contract.

Yep. That’s all I need to know. Unless she (and the board) are the exact opposite of that racist do nothing.

The School Board members all share Hutchings' beliefs, ideology and theories. There isn't a smidge of sunlight between them and him.

Nah, Ignacio has no actual beliefs beyond keeping herself in some semblance of power.

Let’s give her a chance. She does not get much slack due to being this lousy boards pick, but they were duly elected by the idiot voters of the city.

No.

I gave Hutchings, the past superintendent, past school boards, the past interim superintendent (Lois "teachers should walk out of their classrooms and abandon kids to protest' Berlin, PTAC a chance. I'm all out of chances for spineless Alexandria establishment.

She was Hutchings' suggestion. Don't delude yourself into thinking anything will change with his anointed person and this school board.

I think she will be truly a caretaker. So, I do not expect any change but maybe things won’t get worse this year.

That should be Alexandria's motto: "Maybe things won't get worse this year."

That would go perfectly with those horrid childish new logo options they asked people to vote on (and then quickly pulled because they were so bad). They can’t get even the most basic stuff right.

True. When we started at ACPS, I thought that things would get better as time went on. Couldn't have been more wrong.

Anonymous wrote:ACPS Parent. Not excited about the interim superintendent. I don't think she did a great job at HR last year. The social media post that Mr. Elnoubi made stated there were a lot of candidates. I was hoping for someone internal, with a lot of experience in ACPS. She just started last year. Is she going to continue doing her HR job? Also, it sounds like she has a messy personal life. If this is one of the first things I found Googling her, she might want to pay a service to get rid of it. https://valawyersweekly.com/fulltext-opinions/2008/01/02/wyatt-v-kaywyatt/

Plus she just released press that required staff to have the COVID 19 vaccine. Almost three years in a pandemic. I have heard that ACPS is wasting money on central office space. I was sad to see Darrell Sampson went to APS. He seemed like a strong candidate.

I don't care about her personal life now or 20 years ago.

A number of people you describe (internal, a lot of experience) were run off by Hutchings.
